ISP Network Engineer
Level 1 tech support/Intern.
POSITION 1: Wireless/Network Field Tech/SE
Description: We need 1 new person to install and troubleshoot networking equipment, primarily dishes with cable runs.The Person could concentrate on installations on the peninsula, in the Silicon Valley, or in the Watsonville Santa Cruz Area.
Requirements:
1) 1/3 Carpenter/Electrician skill, 1/3 basic IT Skills, 1/3 RF/Wireless/Microwave) Must be capable of all 3 within 30 days of starting. Ability to be quickly trained to do wireless installations, capable of working on roofs, capable of pulling cable, capable of network troubleshooting.
2) Punctuality, Speed and Precision, and a good customer manner.
3) A love for the science and black magic of Wireless Packet Service
4) A vehicle capable of transporting a ladder (there are foldable ladders) with good mileage. A Laptop ideally.
Opportunity for Advancement: Senior Wireless Field Engineer, doing more complex projects such as involvement in base station design and inter campus buildings. The income opportunities increase considerably as these jobs are either high value activities intrinsically or are paid at a higher labor rate by the client.
We need an additional person to work in desk based technical support.
